This painting lies in between figurative and abstract. It was inspired by a view of Belfast City Hall from Royal Avenue. The former “Bank Building” is featured on the right side.

I usually start with a real or mental place that has a particular significance to me. Then I scrape down unnecessary details searching for the essential true feeling.
The fleeting light, seasons, the flow of time, and ageing are strong influences in my work.
