I am intrigued by faces and emotions. I wasn’t too concerned with recreating a photographic representation in this portrait, but rather with capturing the model’s expression and inner feelings.

In my work I like to leave a margin of interpretation, leaving something untold. I want the viewer to
take the time to experience and get inspired and to do this I try to keep my painting minimalistic
and essential.

Curiosity and a constant desire to push the boundary bring me to experiment and explore
materials and subjects. I am constantly attracted to confront the endless challenges that the
painting process brings.
