This painting lies in between figurative and abstract.  It was inspired by water and light.
The movement of water, the fleeting light of dusk, seasons, the flow of time, and ageing are strong
influences in my work.

I usually start with a real or mental place that has a particular significance to me. Then I scrape down unnecessary details searching for the essential true feeling.

In this case, the inspiration come from a small regional park in Italy called “Riserva Naturale del Ponte del Diavolo” where I spent many summer afternoons.
